FRIDAY I'M IN LOVE week 4 - a gratitude list

Friday I'm in love is my weekly gratitude list.

I'm grateful for...
  • A new notebook after the old one is full of scribbles and drawings, sketches and lists. My favourite notenooks and planners are from Moleskine
  • Oh, LISTS. I make lists about everything. Really.
  • Stabilo 68 pens.
  • Not being ill. I had a nasty stomach bug and high fever in the beginning of this week.
  • Saving kitties. My aunt and goddaughter are getting two kitties via our associate animal shelter.
  • More tattoos. Tomorrow! This time it's something small though. I'm still very excited!
  • Being really into something so much that I have drems about it. Beadwork!!
  • Forgiveness and moving on with a lighter heart.
  • Realizing negative thought patterns and thus being able to change them.

Pink doodles, red woolly yarn and the sound of a prayer bowl,

FRIDAY I'M IN LOVE week 3 - a gratitude list

Friday I'm in Love is my weekly gratitude list.

Why gratitude lists?

  • We have a tendency to take good things for granted. Gratitude lists prevent that from happening.
  • It's useful to concentrate on the good stuff, instead of dwelling over the things we don't have.
  • The lists help us to maintain a positive attitude
  • Those who practice gratefulness are likely to be the most successful.
  • Don't know what to write? We have so much to be thankful for, we just need to see that.
So start writing your own list! (and maybe post it in the comments as I'm very curious!)

I'm grateful for...

  • having such wonderfully talented people in my life.
  • TUT and Notes from the Universe that I get to my e-mailbox daily.
  • Tribal Fusion, and dance in general. look at this amazing performance by Rachel Brice and Illan.
  • Urban Decay's 24/7 waterproof eyeliner (my color is Perversion, how cool is that!)
  • pictures of baby owls with round eyes.
  • crazy plush toys and the making of them. (photos will follow)
  • beadwork.
  • waking up next my guy.
  • how snow glitters.
  • BPAL perfumes.
  • having warm clothes in -18C weather.
  • that my phone works; all it needed was a hard reset and I was able to do it myself! (with a little help from my friend Google.
  • the light feeling I have for having a two week cleanse where I didn't eat any sugars/sweeteners, dairy, eggs, soy, peanuts, gluten or corn. I am starting to eat *normally again, but I want to steer away from sugars, dairy and gluten as much as possible.

Warm kitty-paws, nag champa scent and fuchsia glitter,

*normally for me means mostly vegan or vegetarian and some fish occasionally.

Today me and Mr T have been together for a year. What a marvellous year it has been! I don't think I have words enough to tell how much he increases my overall happiness and how wonderfully he treats me and  not to mention the crazy Fun we have together. Who would have thought! There really are gentlemen out there, and I got the best one. And yes, I'm a hopeless romantic so I ooze mushy wuw-stuff.

pic yoinked from the mighty internet

It's useful to think about the above quote especially during these first days of the new year, when you have decided to lose weight, stop smoking, start exercising, clean that clutter from your desk, become famous, treat your friends better, get a kick-ass job.. Well, YOU CAN, all of the above! I have utter confidence in you. If you really want to, you can. But not at once. Don't burn yourself out while making changes.
Baby steps, some careful planning, checking up facts and positive attitude are the way.

One thing at a time. Good things come to those who dream big and work hard.. and have fun doing it!

Kiss kiss!

A few days ago I finished crocheting a granny square blanket for my older brother using different shades of blue yarn. About half of the yarn was from my late Mother's yarn stash, I wanted to use them for something special. The blanket is made of 11 x 12 squares, one square is 12cm x 12cm (about 4,5 inches x 4,5inches). And there are two different types of squares.

I hope my brother likes it!

Yesterday we went to see Rigoletto at the Finnish National Opera. I loved it; the music is so beautiful. Very sad too, as operas tend to be. The world famous Paolo Gavanelli* who played the Jester in Rigoletto was not well and sent his greetings in advance that he might not be able to give his best. That was so sweet of him that he got such loud applause after everything he sang that he actually made a little gesture with his hand that "okay, you can stop now". How great is that!

Dramatic love stories,  sparkling wine and clicking of high heels,

*I'm not very impressed by websites that have sounds or open a video etc without asking you first.
